Oh, I did enjoy this little book. An animal lover/eco warrior type man takes a job on a remote island working for an environmental charity, not really realising that it entailed hunting down and killing all the goats on the island (an invasive species that had taken over and all but obliterated the native species).
We follow his struggles living alone and coming to terms with having to kill and also get to know the tragic backstory which led to him wanting such a remote position in the first place.
Funny, beautiful, profound (and short) – what’s not to love!
